Pimping some teacher gifts

June 17, 2009

Oooops. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve not been slacking, though. My folksy shop has been reanimated with lots of lovely new stuff, including this gorgeous handbag (matching gadget cosy also available!):

"Hello summer!" shoulder bag

And I’ve been making notebooks too – so if you’re short of a thoughtful, handmade gift for teacher, may I suggest one of these?

remember watching snooker in black and white?

They are my go-to teacher gift of choice, along with a bag of homemade tablet.  I might be kind of sick of tablet, though, as I have five hundred or so squares to produce as favours for my sister’s wedding next weekend.  Gulp.  That’s a lot of boiling sugar… still, it’ll give me a chance to get REALLY good at judging when it’s done.

Can I show you my hat?

pretty please with a cherry on top half-hat

It’s made by the amazingly marvellous kisscurl (you can also find her on etsy, dawanda and folksy!) and it should be with me in the next few days.  I am beyond chuffed with it – I got a cute black and white 50s-style halterneck dress and shrug to go with, and just need to get red shoes to finish the outfit off.  And I’ll probably pull the Paris by Night bag from my shop to carry all the junk I’ll need to keep the bridesmaids subdued…
